ABOUT ME
Passionate, creative, and result-driven Temple University graduate. I bring an extensive toolbox of skills, ranging from the usage of Adobe Creative Cloud platforms, Microsoft Office platforms, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Trello, MailChimp, TweetDeck, and more.
My dream has always been to work in the sports and entertainment industry. I want to help create, design, and distribute digital content for world-class teams and organizations within the next 5 years. This will ultimately give me the opportunity to not only grow my own skills and professional development but also grow the sports and entertainment industry.
In the summer of 2019, I was an event planning and graphic design intern at Simply Invitation and Events. At this internship, I assisted with the preparation, setup, execution, and breakdown of catered events (Bar Mitzvahs, Bat Mitzvahs, and Sweet 16s). Prior to the event, I helped the graphic design team with the creation of banners, labels, seating cards, and SnapChat filters. On the day of the event, I went to the venue with the company’s event team and assisted in transforming a piece of artwork that the company and I had created “bring the room to life”!
From November 2019 to October 2020, I was a marketing and creative services intern for Turnkey Search, a collegiate and professional employment sports recruiting company. At Turnkey Search, I assisted in the development and creation of advertising and graphic design materials for staff press releases, sponsorships, and event notifications using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign platforms. Furthermore, I was responsible for scheduling the company's day-to-day social media posts using platforms including but not limited to, Hootsuite, TweetDeck, and SquareSpace. I also assisted in producing and executing the marketing, logistics, and promotion of Turnkey’s first and second international webinar; “A Celebration of Women’s History Month” and “What to Do When Things Go Wrong”. Each webinar featured speakers who have or are continuing to make an impact in the sports and entertainment industry.
But then COVID-19 hit the world.
My internship with Turnkey Search continued remotely, however, while in quarantine I found myself wanting to make a difference in a world that seemed to be lost. With that, I decided to start my own business; Gabby Melissa Designs. My business is a virtual boutique dedicated to the creation of high-quality customizable goods including, without limitation, sweatshirts, t-shirts, mugs, and wine glasses. I started out just selling my products through an Instagram page, however, with business rapidly growing, I decided I needed to reach a wider audience. With that thought in mind, I created a Gabby Melissa Designs Etsy page and my products were now being viewed and purchased by people all over the United States and beyond! Since the creation of Gabby Melissa Designs, I have made over 1,600 sales and that number continues to grow daily!
Having started my own successful business, I was recruited as a marketing and graphic design intern during my senior year at Temple University by Ultimate Sports Nations, a start-up company whose goal is to put a smile on the face of hockey sport’s fans and athletes through game-inspired merchandise. At Ultimate Sports Nations, I was responsible for creating, developing, and managing the company’s Etsy store and created and oversaw all product listings as well as, designed Ultimate Sports Nations digital content.
In March of 2022, I started to do freelance work for the New Jersey Devils social media and digital content team. I was able to learn the ropes and gain insight into the planning and production of all game day content. I assisted with game-day responsibilities, including capturing photo and video content of fan engagement, warmups, giveaways, ceremonies, and other activations via DSLR and iPhone. Additionally, throughout the duration of the game, I assisted with publishing game coverage to all the Devils social media channels. Lastly, I helped create graphics and videos to post before the start of the game, after the first, second and final period to post on the Devils Instagram story using Photoshop and Illustrator.
